I especially enjoyed the video by Elder Holland called Good Things to Come. As a parent in the thick of raising kids ranging
in ages from 18-8 it is easy to feel like Elder Holland in the video. My wheels sometimes feel like they are
spinning and spinning in the mud. The
harder I push the further I sometimes feel like slide backwards. Elder Hollands words to his former self held
a lot of power to my current self. I
want to make it to a point where I can look back on my life now, and tell me
that good things are coming, keep going.
But, in order to make it to that point I have to keep going. I have to keep spinning the wheels and making
the slow progress.
I also found a lot of motivation from the chapters I read in
Hero’s Journey. It is reassuring to know that others have
gone through not only similar things to me, but harder things. If they can make it through, and keep their
faith, hope, and humanity, then I can too.
I especially enjoyed the story by Jeff Sandifer about the three types of
students. He addressed some of my
biggest fears and explained how he overcame them.
It can be hard as a business major to remember that money is
not the end all. I have really enjoyed
this class because the focus has not been on the money. Financial advancement advice has been there
along the way, but the greater influence has been to find ourselves, and find
the path that God wants us to be on. I
feel like I am building a great foundation for future business success because
I will be able to know myself, my strengths, weaknesses, and goals. I hope to continue this journey to strengthen
myself.
