Journeys and Destinations

My journeys thus far in life have often ended up in a different destination than the one I set out to find in the beginning.  Sometimes these alternate destinations were not apparent until I actually reached the end, other times as I take the first steps I realize that the adventure will look completely different than I had expected.  This course, I can tell, will easily fall into the later category.  I didn't know much about the class, but I expected to learn a lot of information about running a business.  As I began the readings and videos provided in the course a new destination started to form.  I realized that I would learn more about myself than any business.  Inevitably, this understanding caused my stomach to do some flips and flops.  Do I want to undertake a deep study of myself?  Will I have something within myself that sets me apart from the crowd and give me the advantage?  Can I really make the time to invest in myself?  These are uncomfortable questions for sure, but as I continued to learn about making life plans, keeping journals, dreaming big, and persevering through trials my feelings changed to excitement.  I believe that I have something great in me.  I believe that with the right training and instruction that I can find that greatness and use it to help the world around me.  I hope to learn these things in this class.  Whatever the final destination of taking this class may be, I know I will be changed in the journey.
